On July 18–19, 2026, Round 2—held in conjunction with the All-Japan Super Formula Championship—took place at Fuji Speedway. In the KYOJO Sprint, Miki Onaga finished 4th, Chiconte 6th, and Aisa Sasaki 8th. In the subsequent KYOJO Final, Onaga secured 2nd place on the podium, achieving her long-awaited first podium finish of the season.
[KYOJO Sprint] Ai Miura (Team ReFa) won the Sprint race the previous day. Oonaga finished 4th, Chikonte 6th, Sasaki 8th, and Pinkowski 19th. Oonaga and Chikonte secured top grid positions for the Final.
[KYOJO Final] Under a gloomy, overcast sky, the 15-lap race started on schedule.Miura took the lead early on, but on Lap 8, #36 Manami Saito (SCS TOM’S KYOJO) seized the lead. Saito pulled away from the field while setting the fastest lap (1’46.367) and, even after a Safety Car period caused by a collision on Lap 11, finished in first place, securing her first victory of the season and the top spot in the standings.
Starting from the No. 4 grid, Oonaga got off to a slow start but steadily made up ground. On Lap 8, he overcame an incident in which he was pushed off the track during a close battle with Miura; aided by a time penalty imposed on Miura, he ultimately finished in second place. This marked his first podium finish of the season, redeeming himself for the disappointment of the season opener. Chiconte finished in fourth place.#8 Sasaki finished in 20th place due to a problem on Lap 10, while #9 Pinkowski finished in 17th place.

Driver Comments

“I wasn’t able to make it onto the podium in the season opener, and I’ve been feeling really frustrated ever since. The podium has never felt so far away.I didn’t have much speed going into qualifying, so I was feeling anxious, but things went really well, so I went into the race with confidence. I got off to a slow start, but after that, I think I was able to stay calm, analyze the situation, and battle my way through without getting flustered. It’s a bit frustrating because I didn’t earn second place by passing anyone. I’m definitely going to fight my way back in the next race, and since I have areas where I feel confident, I want to approach the rest of the season with a strong determination to win the championship.”
