A World First! " Scanat," an AI surveying app that utilizes smartphone LiDAR sensors, now features curved surface measurement capabilities

nat (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: 劉 栄駿; hereinafter “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has implemented the world’s first (*) curved surface measurement feature in Scanat (v1.9.0), an AI surveying app that utilizes a smartphone LiDAR sensor developed and provided by the Company.
(*) Based on the Company’s own research of all 3D scanning apps available on the App Store as of March 14, 2024.

◾️ Development Background

Whether in homes or offices, structures—especially tunnels—are often composed of curved surfaces, and measuring the length of those surfaces can be difficult.
The impetus for this development project was the numerous requests we received from current app users for curved-surface measurement capabilities.
