On Thursday, February 26, 2026, we held the “ Scanat Application Seminar: Utilizing 360° Images and Spatial Data on Construction Sites for Building Contractors.”

In this seminar, co-hosted by Ricoh Co., Ltd. and our company, we introduced the latest applications of on-site digital transformation (DX) that combine 360° cameras and 3D scanning.

On the day of the event, participants from various industries—including construction, civil engineering, and architecture—attended, and there was a great deal of interest in the new workflow, which allows “tasks to be completed with just a single photo of the site.”

🔳Exclusive Tips Shared at the Seminar

This seminar went beyond a simple introduction to the features; it revealed practical know-how from a real-world perspective on how combining 360° photography and 3D scanning with
can unify tasks that were previously fragmented into “photos, drawings, and notes,” and “complete the entire process—from recording to sharing to explanation—in a single step.”

① How to Share On-Site Footage with a Simple “Just Shoot” 360° Technique

Ricoh Co., Ltd. shares tips for 360° photography using the RICOH THETA.

  • How to Capture the Entire Scene in a Single Shot
  • A System for Instantly Sharing Photo Data via the Cloud
  • Ways to Use This Tool to Facilitate Explanations and Confirmations with Stakeholders

The presentation explained methods for carrying out the entire process—from “shooting → sharing → reviewing”—in a single, seamless workflow.

② "Tips for Using 3D" That Will Keep You from Going Back to Photos or Hand-Drawn Images

We will introduce Scanat ways to use Scanat.

  • Complete the entire process—from on-site surveys to measurement and sharing—with a single scan
  • A New Method of Documentation That Doesn't Rely on Photos or Drawings
  • Utilizing Data to Accurately Convey On-Site Conditions Through Integration with a 360° Camera (RICOH THETA)

We shared specific methods for moving away from the traditional “photos plus drawings” approach to our work.

③ Key Points for Achieving “On-Site Digital Transformation”

What stood out to me most throughout the entire seminar was,

  • The Importance of "Recording" On-Site Information as Data
  • The ability to ensure that all parties involved share the same understanding without any discrepancies
  • The ability to make on-site decisions even remotely

It was a change in the nature of the work itself.

Many participants shared comments such as, “

🔳Scenes from the Event and Hands-On Demo Session

After the seminar, we held a “hands-on session” where participants had the opportunity to try out Scanat RICOH Scanat for themselves.

"I never thought it would be this easy to document work sites."
"With this, we could probably implement it in our company right away."

We received many comments like this, and by actually letting people try it out, it provided an opportunity for them to get a concrete sense of what on-site DX looks like at

🔳Upcoming Events

We will continue to hold seminars to share the technologies and know-how actually used in the field.
If you were unable to attend this time, we look forward to seeing you at the next event.

We are also gradually publishing case studies on Scanat on our website and YouTube channel.
Please be sure to check them out.
