nat (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: 劉 栄駿; hereinafter nat ) is launching Japan’s first pilot project utilizing Scanat 3D scanning app Scanat for tasks such as site surveys for the international moving services provided by Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Yamato Transport”).
◾️ Background and Objectives
In the logistics industry, digital transformation (DX) is essential for improving service convenience and operational efficiency.
nat has developed technology that enables anyone to digitize "physical spaces" with high precision. While this technology has been increasingly adopted in the construction, real estate, and infrastructure sectors, we believe it can also contribute to the logistics industry—which involves extensive spatial operations such as moving and warehousing—and have been seeking partners to conduct joint pilot tests.
Yamato Transport supports customers relocating overseas or returning from overseas assignments through its 13 branches nationwide that specialize in international moving. Regarding on-site surveys for international moves, while demand for online surveys has increased in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, challenges remain, such as reducing the burden on customers of measuring their belongings and ensuring an accurate assessment of the volume of goods and the layout of their homes.
Through the use of " Scanat " for tasks such as preliminary inspections for Yamato Transport’s international moving services, we will demonstrate how it helps standardize the accuracy of volume measurements, improve service quality through greater transparency, and ensure a stress-free moving experience for our customers.
